A "Special Lines Surplus Line Broker" is a person who places the following
types of insurance with non-admitted carriers such as;
A "Resident Surplus Line Broker" is a person who places insurance
with non-admitted insurers, covering risks other than aircraft and
certain marine and transportation risks.
A "Non-Resident Surplus Line Broker" is a person limited to the placement
of insurance with non-admitted carriers on behalf of purchasing groups
pursuant to the "Federal Liability Risk Retention Act of 1986."
